Thursday July 8th, 2021, a group of French journalists had the opportunity to participate in a press conference organized in the greenhouse of Antoine Cheminant, a French producer of tomatoes and cucumbers based in Carquefou, near Nantes. This event was organized as part of the European program CuTE.

In the presence of representatives of the AOPn Tomatoes and Cucumbers from France, the journalists have visited the production site of the young producer and they could discover all the characteristics of greenhouse production model, which constitutes a sustainable production method. Climate control, protection against multiple external risks, optimized irrigation, water recycling, recourse to integrated biological protection to avoid the use of phytosanitary products… These subjects were highlighted throughout the visit to allow to journalists to understand greenhouse production.

At the end of the event, a tasting was offered to journalists to savor the quality of French tomato production. The opportunity to discoer the quality of French tomatoes produced under greenhouses.
