Watermelon and Melon
  • Watermelon is possibly the fruit that contains the most water amount (93%), what makes its caloric value so small.

  • In terms of its containing minerals, potassium and magnesium stand out the most. The pulp’s pink colour is due to the presence of the lycopene pigment, carotenoid with high antioxidant power.

  • Among others, in this fruit can be found: vitamin C, vitamin A and provitamin A or beta-carotene.

  • Melons have a high-water content, as well as a low caloric intake.

  • The minerals that are present in a bigger extent are magnesium, calcium and potassium. Furthermore, an important contribution of sodium is found as well.
